Informative, Entertaining, and Truly Delightful!
George Esperidis’s Tuscany guidebook brings together two of his previous bestsellers: A Guide to Florence & Pistoia and Tuscany: 5 Hidden Gems in 5 Days. Staying true to his motto — “Your personal guide in your bag” — George offers more than just practical tips on hotels, restaurants, and transport. At its heart, this is a rich historical narrative written in a clear, engaging style, laced with gentle irony. It feels like strolling through Tuscany with a wise old friend — who just happens to be a historian. Warm, insightful, and packed with local charm. If you’re planning a trip across Tuscany, I wholeheartedly recommend this guide — it’s like having a private tour without the price tag!

This guide by George Esperidis offers a perfect balance of travel tips and historical insight. Each city comes alive with stories and thoughtful details that go beyond the usual tourist spots. His passion for the region shines through, especially in the way he highlights both famous sights and hidden corners. This guide helped me see Tuscany with fresh eyes and gave depth to every stop along the way. A must-read for anyone planning a trip to the region!
Helps to plan the route correctly
I am planning a family vacation in Europe and studying detailed books to plan my route correctly and optimally. There is a lot of information here and for me the book is excessive, I would be more than happy to look at the TOP 10 or TOP 20 must-see places. The book has many more, very detailed information. A good book, but I would be satisfied with a more concise and concentrated version.
