Deeply Relatable and Comforting
I find this bilingual poetry book is incredibly heartfelt, exploring deep human emotions like love, memory, and grief with immense honesty and lyrical simplicity. Touching.
Lines that truly touch the soul...
I can read Ukrainian, but I may not always enjoy literary content in that language. That's why a dual-language poetry book like this is invaluable for me. The lines within are truly moving and touching.
bilingual poetry done beautifully
OK, so I learnt Russian when I was in school, for more than 10 years, and still can read & understand it (speaking, not that much tbh). I do not usually read bilingual books, but this one was a great choice, although I have to admit it was a bit too hard for me !! (for the Russian I mean of course). Seeing each poem in Ukrainian and then in English gives it a special rhythm, I was kind of alternating between the 2... Somehow it made me slow down and read more carefully, even the English parts. The themes of motherhood, faith, and quiet resilience feel very honest. The emotional tone was very steady and comforting, so finally a peaceful bedside companion for sure!
