A very solid option
I really liked The Diabetes Food Bible. Belonging to a family with several cases of DB, i always try to improve my blood sugar management, but honestly, this is a very good cookbook overall. I didnit know Mary Allison Smorrey, but she clearly knows her stuff, and it shows. The photos are quite beautiful, the instructions are clear and easy to follow (I must say, however, sometimes they seem a little rushed). The dishes themselves are quick, everyday meals, nothing too fancy, but definetly useful. My favorite is the Avocado Chocolate Mousse, can you believe such a recipe exists in a diabetes cookbook? But it is, and it is so good! The book also has several guides and tutorials, even a log or two, and tough i appreciate the effort, i must say they are a little basic. The very best thing about this guide is definetly the recipes, and they are very good, overall.Living with diabetes is hard sometimes, so books like these are alwasy appreciated and treasured. If you are in the same situation, or are just a health fan, give this one a go!
Perfect Gift for Diabetics
I got this cookbook as a gift for my sister, who was diagnosed with diabetes. Sheâs tried several recipes from it and loved them! Mary Allison Smorrey really nailed it with these tasty, easy meals.
An essential cookbook for families living with or without diabetes
"The diabetes food bible" by Dr. Mary Allison Smorrey is an outstanding book. As an avid reader, or rather collector, of various cookbooks, whether printed or electronic, I must say that this one certainly surpasses the audience it is primarily intended for. Although I picked up this cookbook mostly for members of my extended family who have diabetes, I definitely intend to use many of the recipes in my kitchen on a weekly basis. And I already tried some of the recipes, like low-carb almond pancakes and avocado chocolate mousse.Aside from the great illustrations and photos of all the dishes in the book, what I like most about it is that it covers a full-day diet, from breakfast through daily meals and snacks. This booklet is written by an author with extensive academic and type 2 diabetes experience, which is an added advantage when choosing a cookbook for a similar purpose. I highly recommend this book to everyone.
