Far Beyond Woman Suffrage

Testing the Limits

About the Book

In the optional previous volume for you, a young woman, Mercy, was jailed for incidentally being at a suffrage rally and was left pregnant as a result of a police rape. Her minister father refused to let her stay in his rectory unless she agreed to give up the baby for adoption, but her nurse grandmother took her in and delivered the baby, ultimately going with Mercy to Tennessee to help with the baby for the final battle of the fight for the amendment for woman suffrage.

Now Mercy is continuing onward, starting at the University of Tennessee which had only recently begun accepting women. She achieves success stretching her student role into much more and falls in love with the state and an amazing man. Issues and details of the 1920s and 1930s, some surprisingly similar to today’s, fill the novel so you can experience them as Mercy does and carry them back to today.

Interesting and easy to get into

I’ve only just started reading this book, but so far it’s really interesting. The story draws you in quickly, and the main character feels very real. It’s easy to read and keeps my attention, so I’m curious to see what happens next.
