A FATHER’S LOVE

In the turbulent era at the beginning of the Great Depression, James Britt, a war-scarred WWI veteran, embarks on a brave journey of healing. Facing uneasiness while standing before people, he accepts a nomination to the deacon board of his church and hopes to be an encouragement to younger men. He soon realizes his influence reaches far beyond his small Bible study group as he steps forward to protect and defend his family in a time of crisis.

Then his employer instructs him to follow other veterans to Washington, D. C. , in their attempt to secure the elusive serviceman’s bonus promised by Congress. He camps at Anacostia Flats with his fellow veterans. His leadership among these men is respected and he realizes his presence and advice are also encouraging to the veterans and their families. Still grappling with the haunting injuries of his past, he is plunged into a new battle when the U. S. Army attacks the bonus marchers.
