About the Book

In the fall of 1983, relations between the US and the USSR are frigid. The Soviets are fighting in Afghanistan. Reagan calls the USSR the evil empire. The South Korean flight KAL-007 is shot down as a spy plane. Under these less than favorable conditions, college student Samuel goes to study at the Gogol Institute in Moscow to learn about the Russian language and life in the Soviet Union.

He and fellow vampire student Kathy are recruited to deliver fortified blood to a sick, old vampire leader in the Soviet government. This leader is a reformer and if he lives, he could warm relations between the US and the USSR. This blood will restore his health to help make that possible. A simple assignment. But it’s not.
