An engaging and atmospheric journey into the ancient world!
The Guest Star is an engaging and atmospheric journey into the ancient world. The mystery of the star, combined with rich historical detail and believable characters, kept me turning the pages. Its smart, immersive story that blends history and imagination in a very compelling way.
Epic Adventure and History Lesson in One
Hero and Lucia took me on a wild ride in this historical novel. The story was good, as was the insight into ancient times. The cosmos is still a mystery, really, even though we modern people like to think we have it all figured out. So, it was nice to have a window into how the people thousands of years ago viewed the skies and the stars. On top of that, Hero and Lucia travel all over the ancient world by ship, on foot, on a donkey, and on a camel, and there are some fights and violence along the way. So, there is something here for everyone: history buffs, romantics, or action lovers.
A Stellar and well researched historical novel
Milan Zivic expertly weaves historical figures into a captivating story set against a mysterious celestial event. It's rich and well-researched, and I especially appreciated the author's notes at the end that explained how everything came together.
