My first successful starter — and I owe it to this book!

So simple to follow, even for a total newbie like meI’ve tried making sourdough before, but always gave up halfway. Too confusing, too many rules. This book? Total game-changer.The instructions are super clear, no fluff, just exactly what you need. I picked one of the rye starters, followed the steps day by day, and… boom. On day four it was bubbling and ready to bake. I couldn’t believe it.The author makes it feel doable, not scary. And it’s not just one method — you get 12 different starters, which is awesome if you want to experiment. If you’ve ever felt like sourdough isn’t for you, give this one a try. Honestly, I’m so glad I did.

Great Starter Guide with Fun Variations and Helpful Tips

I'm very new to making sourdough but I do love a good sourdough, and i'm willing to put in the research and the time. This guide makes sourdough feel a lot less intimidating. It walks you through the process clearly, explaining how to create, feed, and maintain a healthy starter with practical tips that actually work. What I really really liked is that it offers multiple starter variations. It's not just the basic flour-and-water combo, but some other creative options as well with some recipes if you want to change things up a little and experiment some more. The formatting was a good effort but i do think it could have been slightly more polished in spacing here and there both between words in paragraphs, between lines as well as between visual elements but it's still attractive and visually appealing enough. And the wide variety of images which are a great plus to a recipe/cookbook. And the chapter at the end to maintain and troubleshoot starters? I think that was a great addition. When learning new skills, something always goes wrong...for me anyway.

Easy to follow

As a totally inexperienced sourdough baker, I was nervous to try because it seems daunting. I've made yeast breads in the past (way back in college) but my daughter is into sourdough so I thought I'd give it a try. This book has clear recipes and directions. The step-by-step instructions are easy to follow and the author shares her own tips from personal experience. So far I’ve made my first bubbly starter, and my kitchen actually smells amazing. My overall opinion is that this book is perfect for beginners who want to bake bread that looks (and tastes) pro! 🍞✨ One suggestion: get the print book instead of kindle because I found the text a little too small to read on my phone. Since this is a book replica in kindle version , you can't really enlarge the text like a regular kindle book.
