A dangerous protector
This novel is a classic MC romance. One of the main characters, Gunner Storgaard, is a road captain in a motorcycle club. The club operates on the edge of the law, its members lead dangerous lives. Gunner is a dangerous dude. Alix, the female protagonist, is an outsider. She is searching for her missing sister. When Gunner notices that some guy spiked her drink, he beats him up and takes her home to sleep off the spiked beer. This incident in the bar, along with other threats from criminals and her search for her sister, leads Gunner to offer Alix his protection and help to find her sister. I liked how the author builds the tension of the attraction between them. There is also tension because Alix doesn't trust Gunner, as he comes from a criminal world. This is the main push-pull dynamic of their relationship: will she be able to overcome her fear and mistrust? As the story progresses, we see how she brings out the gentle side in him. Even in the harsh biker world, love is a safe place to be. It is a good read.
Gunner is the kind of bad-boy hero you can't help but be drawn to.
The moment he steps in to protect Alix, you know this isn't just a story about a dangerous biker—it's about a man who's fiercely loyal and intensely possessive.
