Rough Way to the High Way: An award-winning, faith-based thriller packed with mystery, suspense, and spiritual warfare—from the cab of an eighteen-wheeler. When Mack's wife, Georgia, is brutally murdered, his world comes undone. The pastor-turned-trucker is grief-stricken and unable to continue in ministry without Georgia. He sells everything and climbs back into the cab of a Peterbilt for a bit of windshield therapy. And maybe a reason to keep living.
But what begins as a search for solace soon spirals into something far darker. Haunted by Georgia's death and plagued by questions no one can answer, Mack's return to the road takes a sharp detour in Pampa, Texas. He picks up a hitchhiker who seems to be much more than a drifter. That encounter triggers a high-stakes mystery laced with danger, deception, and spiritual warfare. Mack meets Barb, a tough but tender truck stop waitress who sees through his defenses—and refuses to let him self-destruct.
When Barb's son, a battle-hardened Navy SEAL, and Texas Ranger Captain Garza join the mix, it becomes clear that Georgia's death wasn't random. Lurking behind it all is Dr. Hashim, a ruthless puppeteer with a global agenda and no intention of letting Mack reach the end of the road alive. With his faith hanging by a thread and enemies closing in from every direction, Mack must choose to run from the pain or drive straight into the fire. As Mack begins to connect the dots, he realizes too late that Dr.

just a bit complicated
A setup is exciting. A former pastor turned trucker hauling a load of beef from Texas to Chicago, with shady stuff happening around him. The pieces of a decent mystery are all there, but for me, it just never clicked. The first half drags. Mack drives, stops at truck stops, has long conversations, picks up a hitchhiker named Ricky, drives some more. By the time things actually start happening, for example, the shot-out tire, the busted window, the bomb angle, I has already lost the rhythm of the story and was reading on autopilot.
A fun and gripping road trip story
This book is an exciting mix of adventure and mystery on the open road. Mack, a former pastor turned truck driver, gets caught in a story full of twists and surprises. The characters are easy to like, and the dialogue keeps things moving. It's a fun and engaging read for everyone.
A very gripping book
The whole story felt like one big puzzle, which Mac, the main character, had to figure out and try to understand the true connection between all the events. I loved Mac's wisdom, his reactions to circumstances, and the many colorful characters. A wonderful, captivating book!
