Art Therapy Journal for Adults
Step-by-Step Guided Exercises for Stress Relief, Emotional Healing and Self-Expression
by Helen Krym
Book Description
When we experience stress, it is often difficult to understand ourselves. Emotions become intertwined, thoughts become confused, and clarity seems unattainable. This art therapy journal is your safe place where you can release tension, recharge your batteries, make discoveries, and express yourself through creativity. Feel free to use any colors, shapes, or patterns. There are no right or wrong answers—only your feelings and your self-expression. The journal is intentionally designed in black and white. You fill it with color yourself, because different cultures and religions have different associations with colors. Inside the journal, you will also find the “Wheel of Emotions” developed by American psychologist Robert Plutchik, which will help you explore and more clearly identify your feelings. Many people consider it a powerful tool on the path to healing. Each exercise is like a mini-session with a psychologist. The methodology is easy to understand (exercise = goal + process + reflection). In addition to the daily exercises, I have included four special “Great Days” at the end of the journal. They will help you see your growth in key areas—emotions, personal resources, inner security, and self-identity. These final reflections will show you how far you've come and where you want to go next. If you want to keep your work, place the pages where you can see them so they inspire you daily. If you need to get rid of negative emotions, tear your drawing into small pieces and throw them away Think of these pages as an ongoing dialogue with yourself. And if you wish, you can bring them into therapy to deepen your personal healing and self-awareness. Now it’s time to begin. Take your journal, choose a task, and give yourself permission to feel and create. This is your journey toward healing and self-discovery.

Calming, creative and insightful self-reflection journal
This journal is a gentle, creative way to slow down and reconnect with yourself. The exercises are easy to follow and don't require any artistic skills, all you need is just a pen and a bit of time. It really helps me express feelings that I might not even realize I have. This is definitely worth it if you're looking for something relaxing or self-discovery.
it’s a thoughtful and engaging journal that helped me relax
Some of the prompts encouraged me to slow down and reflect on things I normally rush past, and I found the combination of art and journaling surprisingly calming. I’m not particularly artistic, so I appreciated that the activities felt approachable and focused more on the process than the final result.
Creativo y relajante, aunque algo repetitivo
