About the Book

Paris, 1891. In the aftermath of Professor Moriarty’s fall, Sherlock Holmes follows a trail of subtle clues through the streets of Paris—where art, deception, and hidden identities intertwine. When a seemingly minor irregularity in a private art transaction draws his attention, Holmes uncovers a pattern that points far beyond a single crime. Beneath the surface lies a network of coded signals, silent exchanges, and figures who move unseen between the worlds of theatre and high society.

Holmes is drawn into a mystery that leads from the banks of the Seine to the shadowed corners of Montmartre—where nothing is quite what it seems, and where even the smallest detail may conceal a greater truth. The Shadow over the Seine is a new Sherlock Holmes mystery in the classic tradition—blending deduction, atmosphere, and an unfolding conspiracy that reaches beyond Paris itself.

Mildly intriguing

I picked this book up because I enjoy a good mystery and Sherlock Holmes is one of my favorites. This story is based on Watson receiving letters from Sherlock, who is solving a forgery crime in Paris. Some of the elements of the story were certainly intriguing, especially the hatted man who shows up every once in a while, but overall, the frequent jumping between Watson reading Sherlock's letters, which were in first person view point and jumping to third person for the other parts of the story made it hard for me to really get into the story.

Geile Geschichte
