The most usable guide 3:00 marathon
The author cuts out the extraneous matter and presents a clear, data-based approach that really works. The chapters on lactate threshold, maximum oxygen consumption and pacing discipline gave me an understanding of my body such as I never had before. It gives realistic workouts and adjustable 12 and 16 week plans which balance nicely between intensity and rest. In my opinion, this book can replace a personal trainer.
absolutely actionable
Make no mistake, this isn’t just a book about running. It is a simple, science based pathway to help anyone who is serious about running 26.2 miles under three hours. The author dose of sports science, real life examples and a plan, simplifies the seemingly impossible feat of running a marathon under three hours into a manageable step by step process to achieve that objective. This is a resource for any athlete whom is interested not just in going the distance, but in winning.
guide that speaks to serious athletes
This is an exceptional book for runners who are aiming to break three hours in the marathon. The authors combined the newest sports science knowledge with choices from a lifetime of coaching experience to provide information on effective strategies to train more smart, minimize setbacks, and race better. I particularly enjoyed the well-structured and actionable plan, which made an ambitious goal feel surprisingly actionable. It is an empowering guide that speaks to serious athletes ambitiously pursuing their next personal record.
